Tithonia Torch Sunflower (Red)

Post by alanmercieca »

The red strain of 'Tithonia Torch' sunflower, it is a very poplar cultivar originating from Mexico, this plant is said to produce nitrogen, that being the reason farmers in Mexico use this flower to fertilize their fields.

These photos are of two plants, they are so close together that they look like one plant. I planted the seeds later than is suggested, so far so good, these photos were taken Friday October 6th 2017. Sorry the flower photo is blurry. I did not have good lighting!
