'English Brown Turkey (Tuckahoe)' (fig fruit are 'English Brown Turkey like', it's in the flavor group 'Tropical')

This cultivar appears to be a cold hardy strain of 'English Brown Turkey', if so then it may be the only cultivar of 'English Brown Turkey' that starts to crop early in the year. Breba figlets can start forming as early as 'April' during a mild zone 7b 'Central Virginia' winter, yet if there is a breba crop it usually starts in that area in June. Most years in that area there is no breba crop, if so then the main crop figlets start forming in August. The main crop is high production.

Winter 2017/2018 Wilson's tree was hit by -3°F with no damage, and with no protection, at the age of about 4 years old, before then the tree had a little die back due to being less mature.

Wilson's long time friend gifted him a 4 inch long cutting of his then about '1 foot tall' fig tree' in 2011', Wilson put that cutting in a little pot with soil and it rooted, the reason why his friend's tree was so short was because it was planted in a shady spot. The tree that Wilson helped to create grew big fast, and about 6 years later he was already canning '8 quarts' of what he calls "Breakfast Figs". This cultivar is a heavy producer, even in that cold climate! It's towering over him in height!

Wilson's friend mentioned that this cultivar originated from 'Tuckahoe Virginia' which is in 'Henrico county, which is in the same general area as Wilson's tree, also in 'Henrico county'. I have just found out that immigrants moving to 'Virginia' used to bring fig cultivars from their originating countries and they planted them in their back yards, so this is very possible.

Wilson says that they are the best figs for eating fresh, and for cooking 'that he's ever tried'.

It's large figs are very tasty, they are very sweet, like the sweetest of candies.

Here is a photo taken of some of the fruit of this cultivar, as you can see this is how the fruit looks picked from a tree grown in 'Henrico county, Virginia'. These figs in the photo were picked in late August 2021, this year.
