'Uzbek' (Üzbég is Hungarian for 'Uzbek')

The cultivar 'Uzbek' originates from 'Uzbekistan', it was used in a hybrid cross to make the cultivar 'Belbek'.

'Uzbek' is said to be more cold hardy than 'Salavatski'. It can survive as cold as '-11.2 degree Fahrenheit' ('-24 degrees Celsius') but with severe damage. Hardy down to '-0.4 degrees Fahrenheit '-18 degrees Celsius' without die back. This cultivar had been exposed to two weeks of continuous frost with temperatures of around 3.2 degrees Fahrenheit to 10.4 degrees Fahrenheit '-16 degrees Celsius to -12 degrees Celsius', then exposed to 2 nights of -0.4 degrees Fahrenheit '-18 degrees Celsius'.

It's fruit has a reddish skin.

It's juice has very good taste, tastes similar to the cultivar Hicaz, with an intense sweet/intense sour taste, some would say a perfect balance of those two things, yet still a little more acidic than the 'Wonderful' cultivar, it's arils are red. It's fruit is resistant to cracking. It's fruit starts to mature in September, and it's crop continues ripening until sometime in October. This cultivar is great in climates with short summers. Late ripening.

One of the first to flower: May and June.

This cultivar can reach about 9 3/4 feet in height/about 6 1/2 feet in width, and it's very resistant to drought. It's disease resistant!
