Kesariani ('Dark Berry' flavor fig)

Kesariani is an unknown fig cultivar that was introduced by Marius in 2012. It's usually small to medium purple/black skinned fruits range from moderately sweet to very sweet, with a delicious deep rich moderate raspberry like berry flavor. The flesh of it's fruit has a dark red flesh, has a thick & jammy texture, with a little seed crunch, the skin is a little chewy. It's fruit most resembles 'Azores Dark', it's taste resembles 'Takoma Violet', and resembles 'Ronde De Bordeaux'.

It starts producing early in the year, ripening about 5 days earlier than Hardy Chicago, and it produces at a young age. It's highly productive, figs at every node, vegetation growth of this cultivar grows like a weed, and does not slow down growing during production. This cultivar is rain resistant, and the flavor does not water down as easily as a lot of other cultivars.

This cultivar originated from someone's back yard in Kesariani, Greece, which is a suburb located in Athens Greece.

Kesariani is hard/slow to root.

In a part of Maine that is hardiness zone 4b, this cultivar has had no die back while protected from the cold.
