1/25 Rannii (pomegranate)

Post by alanmercieca »

'1/25 Rannii' (it is also called ‘Ранний', 'DPUN 112', and it is often abbreviated to 'Rannii')

This cultivar was test grown in Russia at the 'Kara-Kala Turkmenistan Experimental Station'. The original cutting was most likely from a farmers field 'since it was a cultivated variety at the time'.

That 'Experimental Station' donated cuttings of '1/25 Rannii' which were imported to the USA 'by Thompson Southwestern Arboretum' on January 22nd 1999.

The fruit of 'Rannii' has a Beautiful pink skin, with a touch of gold.

The arils of its fruit are either a dark color, or a transparent pinkish color, and those arils are large in size, it's refreshing juice is sweet.

The fruit of 'Rannii' has 'medium-hard' seeds in August - early September, and 'medium-soft' seeds in late September - early October.

The fruit of 'Rannii' ripens 'early-season'.
